I'm sorry to have to resort to this, but the more an email address is exposed on the Internet the more likely it is to get discovered by automatic email harvesting programs - and the more junk email you get. The old familytree email address appeared on nearly 600 pages, and I now get 20-30 junk emails as a result - some of it is very unpleasant. But more importantly it means that some genuine emails are being missed.

So I'm now hiding this new email address so that it's more difficult to harvesters to find - and it's only on one page, so that even if they do find it, they'll only find it once.

The email address above is a picture, rather than text, so harvesters won't be able to read it ... the link it provides is not visible, but is generated using JavaScript ... those with vision impairment and who are using audio browsers should hear what the address sounds like.

This technique isn't perfect, but it should help ... and by routing email through this page it'll make it easier to change the technique in the future.
