Quarter
  25 cents
The origin is obvious - it's a quarter of a dollar. Up until 1964, the quarter was silver, but since then it has been cupro-nickel
Quarterback
In American football, the Quarterback is the player who initiates the various plays. Therefore, the term is sometimes used as anyone who directs operations (particularly in a derogatory way)
Quonset Hut
  Nissen Hut
Basically these were prefabricated semi-cylindrical metal buildings, initially used as shelters for the troops during WWII. They got their name from Quonset Point, Rhode Island, where they originated.
